3. Problems and Challenges

(a) Due to the lack of sufficient information about the need to provide the necessary services for foreign tourists on time, the inability to establish a network between hotels, travel and tour operators within the country, tourists are facing more harassment. It has not been possible to expand the network of reliable air services that can bring tourists directly to Nepal.
(b) Identification of tourist sites and the possibility of integrated and coordinated development of infrastructure in those areas has not been used as an opportunity, and equitable distribution of the benefits has also been seen as a challenge.
(c) Due to the lack of availability of local products, the expected benefits from the consumption of goods and services consumed by tourists have not been achieved. (d) Due to the inability to provide appropriate training to the human resources involved in the tourism sector, it has not been possible to provide high-quality services and get more benefits from them and expand the service facilities.
(e) Although there are many possibilities and opportunities for tourism development, it has been a challenging task to develop it at an appropriate level and convert it into income generation, while it has not been possible to start sustainable development programs after evaluating the achievements of tourism programs for rural poverty alleviation.
(f) Due to the lack of sufficient resources, data and information, the heritage conservation work could not be made effective.
(g) Tourism sector partners, government, non-government and private investors are more involved in promotional work than infrastructure development, so this sector has not been able to get priority in investment.
(h) Reconstruction and expansion of damaged structures (airports) during the conflict has become a challenging task due to insufficiency of resources.
(i) The development of the tourism sector cannot be sustainable without the involvement and activism of the local bodies.Effectiveness has not been achieved in the creation and coordination of awareness.
(J) Activities have not been carried out in a coordinated manner with roads, water supply, electricity, communication, which are directly involved in the construction of infrastructure.
